Juanita can no longer chew properly!

1. She lives outdoors

Juanita is a 16-year-old cat who has spent all her life outside. She found her way to one of our feeding sites when she was a kitten.

2. The cold exacerbates her health problems

She suffers from calicivirus, a viral disease that affects her mouth and gums. It particularly resurfaces in the winter, as the moisture makes the symptoms more frequent and painful. As she gets older, she becomes increasingly fragile...

3. Senior-friendly canned food would help her eat

Juanita can no longer eat dry food due to her painful mouth. Canned food specially designed for older cats would allow her to continue eating despite her difficulties with chewing. The soft texture and the nutrients suitable for her age would help counteract her weakening state.

4. We lack resources for all the cats

We have around a hundred stray cats under our care. We do not receive any form of government funding, and food donations are few and far between. We are only two volunteers, and expenses keep piling up, from medical care to food for all these animals. We're afraid we may not be able to cope much longer.
